Sulfonated polyimide (SPI) and ZrO2 are blended to prepare a series of novel SPI/ZrO2 composite membranes for vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) application. Results of atomic force microscopy and X‐ray diffraction reveal that ZrO2 is successfully composited with SPI. All SPI/ZrO2 membranes possess high proton conductivity (2.96–3.72 × 10?2 S cm?1) and low VO2+ permeability (2.18–4.04 × 10?7 cm2 min?1). SPI/ZrO2‐15% membrane is determined as the optimum one on account of its higher proton selectivity and improved chemical stability. The VRFB with SPI/ZrO2‐15% membrane presents higher coulombic efficiency and energy efficiency than that with Nafion 117 membrane at the current density, which ranged from 20 to 80 mA cm?2. Cycling tests indicate that the SPI/ZrO2‐15% membrane has good operation stability in the VRFB system. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The production of ligno-cellulosic biomass-based composites requires the development of new methodologies to evaluate the reinforcement potential of a given biomass, such as miscanthus studied in the work. Miscanthus stems from thirteen genotypes were broken into elongated fragments and mixed with polypropylene composites in an internal mixer. The aim is to find the best protocol able to discriminate miscanthus genotypes for their reinforcement capability. The following process parameters were optimized in order to maximize the reinforcement effect of the stem fragment filler: mixing parameters (mixing time, rotor speed and chamber temperature), temperature, fragment content, size and length distributions and coupling agent. The relationship between the process parameters and the mechanical properties of composites were analyzed to evaluate the influence of genotype on reinforcement performance, showing the robustness of the protocol in effectively discriminating genotypes according to their reinforcing capacity.  相似文献

The effects of BaCu(B2O5)(BCB) addition on the microstructure, phase formation, and microwave dielectric properties of Ba5Nb4O15–BaWO4ceramic are investigated. As a sintering aid, BaCu(B2O5) ceramic could effectively lower the sintering temperature of Ba5Nb4O15–BaWO4ceramic from 1100?C to 950?C due to the liquid-phase effect. Meanwhile,BaCu(B2O5) addition effectively improves the densification of Ba5Nb4O15–BaWO4ceramic and significantly influences the microwave dielectric properties. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that Ba5Nb4O15and BaWO4coexist with no crystal phase of BaCu(B2O5) in the sintered ceramics. The Ba5Nb4O15–BaWO4ceramics with 1.0 wt% BaCu(B2O5) sintered at 950?C for 2 h presents good microwave dielectric properties of εr = 19.0, high Q × f of 33802 GHz and low τfof2.5 ppm/?C.  相似文献

Sustainable composites comprising scraps of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and gypsum waste in proportions HDPE/gypsum 100/0, 50/50, 40/60, and 30/70 wt% were prepared. The morphology of the injected specimens was core-shell. Thermal, flammability, water absorption, and compression resistance were also evaluated. Progressively, the presence of gypsum increased the HDPE crystallinity and Tonset. Concerning the flammability, the composite 30/70 exhibited the burning rate three times lower than HDPE, indicating that the gypsum played a role as a flame retardant. The HDPE acted as waterproofing for gypsum. The compression resistance of the composites was similar to HDPE.  相似文献

Herein we present a new approach for the complete removal of CrVI species, through reduction of CrVI to CrIII, followed by adsorption of CrIII. Reduction of chromium from water is an important challenge, as CrIV is one of the most toxic substances emitted from industrial processes. Chitosan (CS) thin films were developed on plain polysulfone (PSf) and PSf/TiO2 membrane substrates by a temperature-induced technique using polyvinyl alcohol as a binder. Structure property elucidation was carried out by X-ray diffraction, microscopy, spectroscopy, contact angle measurement, and water uptake studies. The increase in hydrophilicity followed the order: PSf < PSf/TiO2 < PSf/TiO2/CS membranes. Use of this thin-film composite membrane for chromium removal was investigated with regards to the effects of light and pH. The observations reveal 100 % reduction of CrVI to CrIII through electrons and protons donated from OH and NH2 groups of the CS layer; the reduced CrIII species are adsorbed onto the CS layer via complexation to give chromium-free water.  相似文献

We investigate the correctness of the initial boundary value problem of longitudinal impact on a piecewise‐homogeneous semi‐infinite bar consisting of a semi‐infinite elastic part and finite length visco‐elastic part whose hereditary properties are described by linear integral relations with an arbitrary difference kernel. Introducing nonstationary regularization in boundary conditions and in the contact conditions, the well‐posedness of the considered problem is proved. In this paper, we investigate the asymptotic stability of a composite wave consisting of two traveling waves to a Keller–Segel chemotaxis model with logarithmic sensitivity and nonzero chemical diffusion. We show that the composite wave is asymptotically stable under general initial perturbation, which only be needed small in H1‐norm. This improves previous results. In this paper, we propose a composite Laguerre spectral method for the nonlinear Fokker–Planck equations modelling the relaxation of fermion and boson gases. A composite Laguerre spectral scheme is constructed. Its convergence is proved. Numerical results show the efficiency of this approach and coincide well with theoretical analysis. Preparation of novel sulfur/polypyrrole (S/PPy) composite consisting well-dispersed sulfur particles anchored on interconnected PPy nanowire network was demonstrated. In such hybrid structure, the as-prepared PPy clearly displays a three-dimensionally cross-linked and hierarchical porous structure, which was utilized in the composite cathode as a conductive network trapping soluble polysulfide intermediates and enhancing the overall electrochemical performance of the system. Benefiting from this unique structure, the S/PPy composite demonstrated excellent cycling stability, resulting in a discharge capacity of 931 mAh g−1 at the second cycle and retained about 54% of this value over 100 cycles at 0.1 C. Furthermore, the S/PPy composite cathode exhibits a good rate capability with a discharge capacity of 584 mAh g−1 at 1  C.  相似文献
